Every once in awhile, it does us good to look at things from a totally different perspective. That applies to greyhound handicapping. If you're not willing to consider new ways of doing things, you get left behind.
However, with dog racing, it seems as if no one has had anything new to say about handicapping for a long time. If you didn't know better, you'd think that everything that could be written, was written back in the 70's.
That's why I like this new approach to greyhound handicapping. It was time for a change. Time to move with the times and consider that we may need to revamp our handicapping tools.
Greyhound handicapping isn't just a science, it's an art. If you keep doing it the same way and you're not making money, that's an indication that it's time to stop doing the same thing over and over. It's a clue that you need to find a new direction - one that leads to picking more dogs that run in the money.
If you're like most people, you've found a pretty good way to pick winners. You lose a little more than you win, but you can afford it. Hey, if you went to a movie instead of the dog track, you'd expect to pay to be entertained, right? So what you lose is the price you pay for the "entertainment" you get at the dog track.
If you agree with that, graded greyhound handicapping isn't for you. Stick with whatever you're doing. If, however, you're tired of being "entertained" by losing money at the dog track, maybe it's time to think about trading in your losing system for a new one.
There are plenty out there. Everything from software to books to handheld computers. Do your research and compare them and then invest in one. Before you take it to the track though, try it out on paper and then learn it thoroughly before you actually put money on it.
Many people don't take the time to learn a system and then blame the system when they lose. It takes time and effort to get good at anything and greyhound handicapping is no exception.
